The 2012-2013 Visitor Guide Debuts
April 18th, 2012 by Angie Marsh
The latest and greatest Washington County Visitor Guide is now available, featuring articles highlighting the region, as well as listings and information about all the unique attractions the area has to offer. This is a different guide than in years past; its magazine-style look and feel is aimed at giving readers a sense of place and an insider’s look at what to do and see when visiting.
This edition is divided into several easy-to-navigate major categories:
Discover: Farmers’ Markets, kid-centered attractions, annual events and more
Around the Towns: A rundown of the area’s cities and communities and their history and highlights
Happy Trails to You!: Camping, biking, hiking, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, picnicking, birdwatching, horseback riding–so much to do!
A Rich Tradition: History of winemaking here; Wine 101; regions of vintners in the area
The departments come next in the magazine, which include: play, harvest, shop, see, dine, stay and resources. These illustrate that there is, indeed, something for everyone in Washington County.
Additional details make the listings even more user-friendly, with a breakdown of restaurants by city, then divided by type of cuisine. An updated matrix shows all area hotels, bed & breakfasts and camping/RV parks and amenity details such as “pet friendly” and “outdoor pool.”
In order to navigate the county, the back of the book has an updated custom map, complete with new points of interest that include: kayak/canoe spots, farms open to visitors, and TriMet’s MAX light rail line. You’ll also find shopping centers, wineries, golf courses and recreation points, among other highlights.
Look for the guide to arrive soon at select Visitor Information Centers throughout Oregon, as well as Chamber offices in the County and select area hotels. Starting Friday, April 20, copies will be available for pick up at WCVA’s Visitor Center in Beaverton at 11000 SW Stratus St., Suite 170. Or request your own printed copy. The digital version is available here.
