See the sights of wine country harvest in this daylong event.

The second annual North Willamette Harvest Trail and Grand Tasting on Saturday, October 6 offers a guided bus tour to three Washington County wineries/vineyards for tastings, hors d’oeuvres and harvest preparation activities at each. The day begins at 10 a.m. on a bus, where participants can learn more about the region from an experienced tour guide.

Each winery stop offers an opportunity to visit and engage with both large and small producers in the vineyard, crush pad and winery. Guests will be able to harvest clusters from the vine; stomp grapes to make pied de cuve (direct translation “foot blend” or fermentation starter); “start” a fermenter with yeast; test sugar levels and pH; sort grape clusters; load a de-stemmer; and taste and compare fermenting versus finished varietals.  A wine country lunch is included along the way as well.

The day will conclude with a Grand Tasting event at Garden Vineyards from 4 to 6 p.m., which includes samples from  20+ wineries, food pairings from the restaurant 1910 Main – An American Bistro, exclusive discounts on wine, live music, and a commemorative wine glass for each attendee.

All of the above is included in the ticket price of $79. Space is limited; tickets must be purchased here in advance. Also, a limited number of Grand Tasting only tickets are available for $35 each; check with North Willamette Vintners.
